Inhibition, Cognitive Flexibility and Decision Making

At In2decision Lab we have an interdisciplinary team of researchers dedicated to the study of inhibition, cognitive flexibility and decision-making in mental health. We focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying these processes and their relevance for mental health. We engage in cutting-edge research to offer new perspectives in the field of cognitive neuroscience. We address impulse control and neurorehabilitation using advanced diagnostic, neuroimaging (fNIRS) and neuromodulation (tDCS) techniques.
Team
Our team is made up of professionals who are passionate about cognitive neuroscience research. Each member brings experience and expertise that enriches our laboratory, allowing us to address complex challenges in the study of mental health.

Ana Sánchez-Kuhn
PhD. Researcher
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Basic Psychology at the University of Almeria. I study dimensions such as inhibition, flexibility and decision-making in impulsive-compulsive populations. I am particularly interested in the brain connectivity associated with these dimensions, and their neuromodulation with non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. I currently teach at the University of Almeria and the International University of La Rioja.

PhD. Researcher, Col. AO-10819
As a Health Psychologist and Doctor in Neurosciences, my main interest is to identify and understand the different attention and impulsivity problems that patients may present, especially children and adolescents with ADHD, in order to improve diagnostic accuracy. To do so, I combine neuropsychological assessment, behavioural paradigms and functional neuroimaging (fNIRS). Currently, I combine teaching and research as Assistant Professor with clinical practice at the Child Psychological Care Unit (UAPI) of the University of the Balearic Islands.

PhD. Researcher
I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Basic Psychology at the University of Malaga. My interest lies in studying how individual differences in decision-making influence habit learning and its expression. To this end, I use computational reinforcement learning and machine learning models.

Rosa Cánovas López
PhD. in Psychology, Health Psychologist and Child Neuropsychologist, Col. AO-6933

PhD. Student, FPU
After completing a Master's degree in General Health Psychology, I am currently in my fourth year of my PhD. My research focuses on the study of executive functions in adults diagnosed with ADHD and OCD, with a particular focus on working memory, motor inhibition and cognitive flexibility. To this end, I combine behavioural measures and neuropsychological assessment with neuroimaging and neuromodulation techniques, such as fNIRS, EEG and tACS, with the aim of understanding the underlying neurobiological mechanisms.
